Tasting Notes and Description

Hahn Pinot Noir is a reflection of the rich winemaking tradition and exceptional terroir of California's Central Coast, particularly the renowned Monterey County where Hahn Family Wines has established its legacy. With a deep commitment to sustainable viticulture and innovative winemaking techniques, Hahn crafts a Pinot Noir that captures the essence of the region's cool climate and diverse soil types. This commitment results in a wine that is both expressive and elegantly structured, showcasing the varietal's characteristic finesse and depth.

The Hahn Pinot Noir opens with inviting aromas of ripe red fruit, including cherries, raspberries, and hints of strawberry, complemented by subtle layers of spice and earthy undertones that speak to its Monterey heritage. On the palate, the wine is beautifully balanced, featuring a silky texture and a medium body that carries the nuanced flavors of the fruit with grace and a touch of oak influence, adding complexity and a smooth finish. This Pinot Noir's refined acidity and soft tannins make it incredibly versatile, pairing splendidly with a wide range of dishes from herb-crusted salmon and roasted chicken to more savory options like mushroom risotto or a cheese platter featuring aged Gouda or Brie. Hahn Pinot Noir is not just a testament to the Hahn family's dedication to quality winemaking; it's an invitation to experience the distinctive character and charm of Monterey's wine country, offering a memorable and enjoyable drinking experience with each glass.

Stay clear of this one!

Been a customer of wines from Hahn for years...mostly cabs. But every now and then I'll pick up a couple Pinot's just to have on hand. Thought I'd give Hahn Pinot a try. This one is only good for cooking. Clarity was great and the aroma was welcoming, but the taste was bitter, no body and very thin. A bad vintage perhaps...not sure, but there are far better choices (in fact a "lot" of better choices) than this one. Down the drain it went :(
